First Stop=> Wu-Lai
This is the first little vacation we had, a very abundant one!!
It's the best choice for somebody (sharky) who likes log carts, cable cars, and obrigional culture so much!
It's quite far from Taipei city center, 40 minutes of winded mountain road from the 新店 metro station (driven by a crazy bus driver) , we were there, dizzy. @@
On the old street, we had some snacks and special local food.
The guy who sells obriginal BBQ was dancing to obriginal music while preparing it, very busy~ XD
Ladies and gentlemen, the thousand-year-egg which ranked as the 2nd scariest food worldwide by CNN~~ (the 1st one was fried cockroach from southern Asia as far as I remembered ...)
Beside its smell, Dima likes it!
Here, Wulai, has some varied versions of thousand-year-egg, such as hot spring ones, and tea leaves ones.
Then we headed toward the Wulai waterfall by log carts.
Just for some background, log carts were initially built to transfer logs during the Japanese colonized time, and many of Taiwanese precious wooden resources was severely damaged under their rule to benefit their own country. Nowadays, the carts are just for tourists usage.
Before the dusk, we took the cable car and arrived the 雲仙Park.
Although it really is an old park, many things looks abandoned, the view is really awesome! However, I personally think that the ticket is too expensive for it.
Unfortunately, the time we arrived was already after 5pm, my sharky's boat canoeing dream was shattered... this kind of boat can seldom be seen now, I think they'd reather use swan boat for it's more profitable.
Don't be sad, we'll find a boat to canoe someday!!:D
(right: the night view we saw from the cable car)
We spent the night in 鶴雅溫泉旅館hot spring hotel with some discount coupon we found online:
2099NTD for a room with Wifi and automatic massaging bathtub, including two breakfast and afternoon tea(cake+drink).
Nice location(not on some noisy street), and middle-class equippment! They have 3 levels of rooms, the window views are streets, river, and river+mountain, respectively. We chose the cheapest one. However, the design was not good enough, for the room became super humid after bath (it's even wet on the wall next to electrical outlets which is dangerous!!).
Anyway, we still had a good time there~
The next day, we went to see the obrigional performance at 烏來山地文化村(酋長文化村).
*Next time I would like to go to GAGA theater of 娜魯灣溫泉渡假飯店, I've heard that it's a famous performance group which even visited by the Lion King musical group when they were in Taiwan! Sounds cooler! (Yes, I fell in love with the musical Lion King after I watched it in Hamburg.:))
The one we visited presents their customs in a simple way. The whole sightseeing at that area is like a large family business, cuz some clerks we just bought things from were also performing there. The performance are with some brief Japanese and English introduction and it exactly fits the ticket price.
The most interesting thing was that I got married there!! :P
Si, just kidding. So to say, I participated a wedding ritual concerning me there. :P
I was suddenly invited to the stage to participate the performance and didn't know what the plot was
But it was really fun and Dima even helped me make the movie.
At the end, they took a photo with Polaroid (Instant Camera) with couples, including us, framed it, and ask if we were interested in buying it.
500NT such an insane number, but I guess for some people like us, would be a cool and precious memory... under Dima's insistance, we decided to buy it. :)
Our original plan was to rent bikes from the Wulai Waterfall tourist center to visit內洞森林遊樂區 (娃娃谷) Forest Park (and I even made a reservation for it), however, it was closed for no reason. :(
Fine. Anyway, it was not so early and not the best time of a day to visit a place, plus it leaves us some reason to come back next time. J
An assault picture->
Here comes a substituted plan, fish spa!!
The fish called "Garra rufa" originates from Middle East. It eats animals’ cuticle, and normally habitats in 40 degree Celsius water or HaHCO3 hot spring.
The price was pretty reasonable, 150 NT/ 30 min.
And, trust me, 30 min. is enough for the endurance of continuing ticklingness! XD
Haha, the most unbearable thing was when fish drill the part between toes!!
